Join guide Maria or another English-speaking guide for a two-hour evening walk through Zurich’s Christmas season. See the Illuminarium, the decorated tree at the main station, Walcheplatz’s Singing Christmas Tree, old-town lights, Grossmünster, Münsterhof, and Bellevue’s large Christmas village. Expect walking, outdoor weather, and time to buy your own food or mulled wine.

“Met our guide, Maria, at the Illuminarium Christmas market located at the National Museum. The lights were amazing. Walked across the street to the Zürich Main Station where the highlight was the Lindt Christmas tree. Our next stop was our favorite, Zürich Werdmuhleplatz where we enjoyed Gluhwein and the magnificent Singing Christmas Tree. The finale was by the Opera House which was large and crowded. Definitely the place to be on a Saturday night. We enjoyed the markets, the history and city views provided by Maria. Definitely recommend the Christmas Market Tour.”

Excursion to Colmar and Ribeauvillé to the Christmas market

4.Excursion to Colmar and Ribeauvillé to the Christmas market

★★★★★★★★★★4.5 · 3 reviews · 9 hours (approx.) · from $78

Travel from Basel to two Alsatian Christmas markets in one afternoon and evening. You get two hours in Ribeauvillé, known for its medieval theme, then nearly three hours in Colmar after dark. Private air-conditioned transport is included. Bring money for meals and drinks, and do not count on a bus bathroom or internet.

“Brilliant trip to two fantastic Christmas markets. Ribeauville was the absolute star of the show. When they said it was a medieval market, we were not prepared for just what that meant. Traditional costumes, food, music, performances. It was amazing. The town itself is like something out of a painting. Gorgeous colourful chocolate box buildings and so many little shops to dip into. Colmar was very busy and a bit spread out, by comparison, but enjoyable, especially after dark. Overall, we would recommend this trip.”
